Making the news -- even in Australia!

So far, we have made the 10 o'clock evening news three times -- once
with a live broadcast. HASD has also been featured in several national and regional magazines and newspapers. We were most surprised to see our endorsement of Senator Clinton reported in South Australia.
Our goal in generating press is threefold. First, we want every GLBT person living in the Houston area to be know about HASD. Second, it helps inform our GLBT community about political issues and happenings. Finally, we hope to educate the greater Houston area about issues important to the GLBT community.

Stonewall Democrats were very successful in competing for the most coveted national delegate spots. More than 7,000 state delegates vied for the 225 spots. Three are from HASD: Victor Castillo, John Grothues, and Teresa Herrin.

We were thrilled to visit with President Clinton, Elizabeth Edwards, and James Roosevelt. Roosevelt is the grandson of FDR. Most recently, however, he was in the news as Chair of the DNC Rules Committee.
